Can dogs eat Cherry tomato?

Cherry tomato(ミニトマト)

Safe to feed

A small tomato with the red pigment lycopene.

30 kcal per 100 g

What kind of food is this?

Per 100 g: 30 kcal and 80 µg of vitamin A. The red color comes from lycopene, a carotenoid pigment.

Lycopene is studied for its role in protecting cells from oxidative damage by free radicals. Vitamin A is also a nutrient that supports vision and the health of skin and mucous membranes.

How to serve

Remove the stem end and use red, ripe fruit. The stem end, leaves, stems, and unripe green fruit contain high levels of tomatine. They are easy to swallow whole, so cut them before serving.

In food-energetics terms

In food energetics it is considered "slightly cold" (mildly cooling); this page shows it as cool. It gently cools the body and is often chosen when the body is holding excess heat.

(Food energetics is a long-standing idea of supporting the body through everyday meals. Treat it as one extra hint alongside the nutrition numbers.)
